So What's the Big Deal, What has Changed at Google?

Google has made what I'm fond of calling a course correction.

It's simply a way of putting a vessel that has veered off its plan for whatever reason, back on its course. You've probably noticed in your business, that from time to time you make changes that you feel are the best thing for your company at the time, only to find out later that what you thought was innovation was really a move away from your core vision.

Or you might discover that while the detour you made was good for short term growth, your long-term goals just aren't served by continuing on the new path.

So what happens? You go back to the old one.

Now, if companies were people, it would be all too simple to look up, realize you missed your turn, and make a U-turn.

But they aren't, companies are made up of a lot of moving parts. And to bring this back to Google, who could have predicted all the ways in which we'd be using our search engines to get information about so many parts of our lives? Who saw Twitter and Facebook coming a mile away?

There was even a time when no one thought mobile phones would catch on the way they have, to the level that there are more of them in the world than computers, even in the most remote corners of the globe.

Where's that data going to come from? Hopefully, a good portion of it will come from informed business people like you and I.

"Are There Really Eight Thousand, Three Hundred and Forty Reasons Why Should I Listen to You, Tinu?"

Before I tell you what you'll learn about the New Google, let me tell you why you should trust the information I'm about to give you.

This is the part where I normally cite some of the prestigious publications that I've been featured in and the companies I've worked with or advised. Today, instead of merely listing them, I'd like to convey the importance of being honored with a feature in these publications.

A site like About.com doesn't simply ask all comers to submit works. Some sections of the site even hide their submission forms, or don't have them at all -- you'd have to be approached for the privilege of having an article published.

(I may be biased but the fact that they're still here after almost two decades speaks quite highly of them, I'd say. That they seek my advice humbles me with how highly it speaks of me.)

As you can now see, when I mention that I've been allowed to share my knowledge in Search Engine Journal, Search Engine Guide, Site Pro News, Site Reference, Promotion World, Blog Critics, and About.com, among others, it means that my word and methods are trusted by other renowed experts who are trained to see through the smoke and mirrors of false gurus.
