I’m finding the project fun and a great networking experience as well - I’ve run into quite a few good blogs I may not have run into otherwise. Seems like a silly gimmick to me - is it really the point to be recognized among a bunch of other bloggers? Parece una tontería que me ha artilugio - ¿es realmente el punto de ser reconocidos entre un montón de otros bloggers?

Silly, maybe, maybe even a gimmick, but participating in other parts of the blogosphere is part of having a blog. Technorati blocked a lot of the links from counting towards you, even though linking to the faces was something only about 10% of those participating did, and was not one of the requirements.
