Free Traffic Method #9 :: Article Marketing
Article Marketing is back “in” again. The truth is, it was never out. If you want visitors to your site virtually overnight, there are few faster ways than to write an article and achieve mass distribution.
Many people, when talking about article marketing, praise the method for its ability to get you links back to your site, if you continue with your article marketing efforts over a period of time. Sure, this is a great way to continue to get exposure, but its a very limited view of what article marketing can do for you.

Free Traffic Method #3 :: Business Blogging
One of the fastest ways you can get a continous flow of increased traffic to your site is through blogging.
Do it right and you can get closer to your audience and increase your return traffic (which can help you put your marketing message out more often, which brings you closer to sales, faster.) Not to mention the fact that you can get more search engine traffic from blogging, if you know how to configure your blog to capture the traffic naturally.

Before we get back into the Free Traffic Methods series that we keep stopping and starting, I thought would be useful to you if I did a quick re-cap of the free traffic methods we’ve already done some coverage on.
We’ll be going over some of these again, but the on-going coverage will start with some topics we haven’t yet covered.

I’ll probably be sending my blog posts through with my blog publisher, which means most of the posts won’t be live again until Monday. Until I have the chance to visit with you again, I hope you and your family have a save and happy holiday.
I agree with Gotham Chopra at Intent Blog when he calls the current atmosphere around the Thanksgiving holiday in the States a “quantative indifference”. There has been kind of a well-meaning yet ill-advised political-correctness backlash against Thanksgiving in recent years.

Is there a secret to building an algorithm-proof site?
Yes.

Now we know that when search engines come to your site to request documents, and hopefully add them to their public index, they are doing so to solve a problem. If we attempt to understand that problem, and can make our site part of the solution to that problem better than the next site, we can get more traffic from search engines.
So … What is a search engine’s problem - and how can my site be a part of the solution?

If you’re just joining us, and trying to figure out what’s going on, we’re on day two of our quest for increasing traffic with free methods.
Today the topic is Can You Build an Algorithm-Proof Site? That is, can you build a site that will keep ranking in the search engines despite any updates to algorithms?

Here’s an even better question - can I consistently spell algorithm correctly through this series of posts?
So it’s Search Engine Day, which I’ve officially moved to Wednesdays, but unofficially still do on Tuesdays when there’s a whole lot of news and I’m a bit busy.

Yesterday Pandia put together a collection of resources for folks who want to look for information on search, but don’t know where to start, with both do-it-yourself instructions and pre-assembled tools. What a great idea…
Clip ==> “there are a large number of search-oriented sites out there, and other media are also covering the world of Google, Yahoo and the lot. Wouldn’t it be great to have a tool that followed many of them and sorted out the main headlines in a easy to read way?”

There are some great blog posts from both veteran and new bloggers out there that give more information about promoting your blog.
From Darren at ProBlogger, you can find an article about what to do when your blog traffic from Google drops. He also has a category called Blog Promotion that has several meaty posts in it.

It comes as a surprise to many, but there are many sites out there that are willing to send traffic your way, and you don’t have to trick them or threaten them with the stink eye to get their help.
We’re not talking about search engines and specialized directories yet - we’ll soon come back to that.
