Free Traffic Tip :: 2000 Subscribers in a Few Days?
Hey, You're New Here! We love new people.
Please do us the honor of returning. You can subscribe by RSS feed, or get updates by email. We also welcome your feedback on the posted information. When filling out the form, don't forget to leave your link and your first name.
It’s true.
And I’m not the only one who got thousands of subscribers by the time it was over. In fact, since I only caught the last few day of the promotion, I only saw around 30% of what other promoters did. My old site was also hacked about half way through so I can’t imagine how many people I missed out on.
Not this year. I got in early and started promoting like crazy, trying to get a better position. It’s free to sign up, and the subscribers you’ll get are also free.
And I’m going to tell you exactly what I did, and how you can do the same thing. Merry Christmas. ![]()
But before we get into that, I want to let you know that among these sign-ups were some of the most high-quality ezine sign-ups I’ve ever had from any other source except article marketing and people who come directly to my site through search engines or links. These aren’t your average freebie-seekers. They are potential clients - 90% of the people who signed up then are still on my list, and around 30% became clients at some point during the past year.
If you do this promotion right, it could be THE most important thing you do for your online business this year. It’s not just for typical internet marketers either - if you can come up with a giveaway and you have an affiliate program, you can participate in this promotion whether it’s a whitepaper, free software, an ebook or report, a collection of articles as a report, an excerpt from a book you’ve written, a CD, an online video, audio or written interviews, a promotional copy or excerpt from a book - anything you can give away from your site after someone signs up.
Okay. With that out of the way, I know you want to know where you sign up and how long you’ll have to wait for the traffic, and all that other fun stuff.
So here’s what you do. (If you’ve participated in JV-style list builders, this will be familiar to you - but I’m telling you now, this is the Granddaddy of them all.)
First, sign up for the promotion. Then, wait for your confirmation email. In that confirmation, you’ll get specific instructions for how to sign up for the goodies, and how to be a contributor. Follow those instructions to the letter, then wait. There are two things you’ll want to do while you wait.
First, you’ll want to prep your site. The first thing you need is a page where people can sign up for your newsletter. This page should not have any direct sales promotion - not even a confiramation page that goes to a product at this point as I might suggest in some cases.
The second thing you’ll need is a great gift that has real monetary value, and a downloads page to go with it - that’s the key to this program. You can do a soft-sell on this downloads page if you like. The gift doesn’t have to be something you’re selling on your site now - but it must be something that is at least comparable to what people would pay money to get.
It should be something that directly relates to your business. (See our freebies discussion to understand why this is true.)
It may be a day or more for Mark Hendricks, who is running this program, to approve your offer. When he does, whichever “day of Christmas” you’re assigned to is when you’ll start to get traffic.
The second thing you’ll want to do- and this is critically important- is promote the living daylights out of the co-branded link you’ll get.
Now this is where I lost most people last year. Why should you promote Mark’s link? How is that going to benefit you?
Pay close attention. I’m going to spell it out, but if you don’t get it, just read it again until you do. This is the key to success with this program. For my money, it’s worth paying to promote and making sure that everyone you know who is interested in online business knows about it. Last year, it was worth stopping all promotion for my own site and concentrating on this program.
Let’s do the math.
Right now, this actual second, thousands of people are signing up for the business gifts at that site. Every day the list grows and continues to grow - and every two days or so, the entire list gets the same page to where they can go find the freebies on the list for that day. If you’re on day ten of the promotion, it is therefore, in your best interest to make sure that as many people as possible are signed up when it gets to be your turn.
Your position on that list also depends on how much promoting you do. The higher up you are on the list, the more visibility you have.
So you can potentially make up for not getting in early by getting lots of people on the list.
Not only that, the more people who are signed up for your gift/freebie, the more people that are going to click that soft-sell link on your downloads page. At a mere 1% conversion, that could be 20 -60 extra sales - particularly important to you if business is slow for you this time of year.
There it is in a nutshell. If you have any questions about the program, just leave me a comment, I’ll be happy to answer.

Dear Ms. Tina Abayomi-Paul,
I must say I am blown away by your remarkable BLOG credibility and knowledge. I’m not even into BLOGS yet, I know they are the cutting edge to killer traffic and sales.
I’m a web designer and the web master for my church. The youth director requested a prayer request page for youth. The hosting I hooked them up with has Word Press and Joomla! (whatever that is). Long story short, I’ve created, deleted, created, deleted and am thinking about re-deleting latest page creation.
Tech support really don’t want to bother with me because they figure the FAQs/Tutorials are sufficient but they are not.
Every time I think I’ve got a handle on it AND I’m also typing step-by-step for youth director as I go/learn, I revert back to “so where would youth leave email” and “why didn’t I spot comments” after I logged off?
I’m heading back to read Sheila Manual Coggins (about.com) Blog Series.
I’m involved in a networking biz and I do not believe anyone has thought about hooking it with a blog. Since I love techie stuff, I figured I should BLOG the word out and educate.
What do I do to smooth my ruffled “technie” feathers regarding the complex (mine) method of Word Press or any Blog system?
I know you’re busy so hang with me whenever (does it ever) your life slows a bit
Thanks - Constance “Creative Diva” Smith
