Of course, don’t be completely consumed with search. But do include a thought as to whether your content can be found in the search engines. No need to drown your articles in keywords, but it helps if you include one in your tags, or your title, since that might mean the difference between a couple dozen and a couple hundred people finding it through search engines.
Make an effort to get more links - but balance that need with common sense.
